The product Moisture Biocontrol contains microorganisms that are adapted for dry or excessively wet soil conditions. This product creates favourable environment in the soil around the plant and optimizes its water consumption and nutrient uptake in different periods of vegetation.
The microorganisms contained in the product are able to effectively produce and accumulate polysaccharides (glycogen, chitin, agarose, carrageenan, xyloglucan, dextran) that retain water in the soil, and if there is an excess of water, they help to control the feeding of the plant roots by creating their own biofilm over the root system and surrounding fresh rootlets with their biomass. The volume of water and nutrients absorbed by polysaccharides is up to 5000 times greater than the space the polysaccharides occupy (depending on the molecular weight of a polysaccharide and its absorption capacity). When the amount of polysaccharides in soil increases the soil fertility improves and the concentration of humic acids rises because the polysaccharides (glycogen, chitin-glucan, dextran) serve as a source of nutrients for other soil microorganisms, actinomycetes and fungi.
